Kleinwort Hambros scam bond alert
This has been reported by an investor:
Two companies are offering bonds supposedly from Aberdeen Standard Investments and Kleinwort Hambros. They both stipulate that these bonds (BT and Telefonica and Tescos) are covered by FSCS/FCa from £50K to £85K.
Initial investment is a minimum of £50K. The guys I spoke to insist that my capital is not at risk due to the FSCS/FCA compliance.
These are clones of the real companies. If you want to invest in a BT bond then you can buy them on the stock market. Using a scam, clone company to buy them means that you are likely to lose all your money.
Just to be clear, Aberdeeen Standard and Kleinwort Hambros are genuine companies. These companies are fake ones that are trading on their name but have nothing to do with them.
Phone the real Aberdeeen Standard or Kleinwort Hambros via their genuine websites and you will find that they know nothing of these bonds being offered in their name.
The website offering the investment is called fixedreturninvestment.com. You can tell it's a fake offer as they claim £85,000 capital protection by FSCS. Corporate bonds are NOT protected by the FSCS and you could lose all your money if you buy the bond on the London stock market but unlikely as it's BT. It's highly likely that you will lose all your money if you buy it via this outfit.
