Marshbell Group Interest Payments Stopped - Scam Review

Latest UPDATE Feb 2024 - Marshbell being struck off - act now!

There have been quite a few investors in Marshbell reporting that their interest payments have ceased and they've not been able to get their capital returned or get in contact with the company to find out what is happening.

The FCA have put out a warning about Marshbell Limited trading as Marshbell Group operating illegally in the UK so they may be struggling to get investors on board with the warning on FCA website.

Looking at the accounts for Marshbell Limited they appear to be in a difficult financial position with negative assets of almost £700,000 for 2020. This means that they owe people over £700,000 more than the assets they actually own and would explain why they have stopped interest payments.

The creditors which is presumably bond holders are owed over £2 million so unless the company makes a large amount of money before the bonds are due for repayment these investors are going to be losing out and not get back their capital in full.

Anyone who bought bonds from Marshbell must have been one of the following types of investor to legally buy them. The comments on the previous Marshbell article suggests otherwise and that they were selling to retail investors who didn't understand what they were buying. Marshbell are welcome to disprove this.

    1. Very little you can do. They're an unregulated investment so no recourse to FCA. You can take legal action against them but if they have no money as above then there are no assets to recover.

    2. Yes. The same here.

    2. Yes I had an update too. Bit confusing because it states they are now owned by AAA Property Investments Ltd but
There is a new Marshbell Director - Mr. Dey according to companies house, and new contact address. AAA have no assetts according to companies house and just one director resident in Saudi Arabia....But the email given for contact relates to zorrofinance.com. Zorrofinance do have a Web page but it is very vague

  6. Does anyone know who was responsible for Marshbell? I know of a Stuart Paterson, any information will be good, I will personally visit him, they are a complete con team, they have taken in a fortune and tucked it away, no one will be getting money back

  7. l believe Marshbell Group has now been taken over or so l was informed last month by email. All outstanding Bonds to be paid back by end of 2024 is the claim. This was obviously always a very high risk investment which comes with the risk of losing all one's investment . Only hope no one put their life savings into it!

    1. Yes. l agree. This kind of high interest investment comes hand in hand with a high risk of loss - as clearly stated on their website with no FSCS protection and no FCA regulation. l still have some hope but also resigned to the loss of my £5,000.

    2. I have never received any mail from them- two bonds matured- nada. Can anyone supply then email address that was used?

  8. Is there any way of finding these people? I have been trying to obtain any update from Marshbell or now Zorro finance to no avail. At the time of investing I was aware of Marshbell being unregulated by FCA, but still disappearing with someone's money without any contact surely is a criminal act. Can the Police or maybe Watchdog investigate?

    1. Very little you can do. As they're an unregulated investment you're on your own effectively. You can take legal action against them but if they have no money as above then there are no assets to recover. Police won't take action over a bad investment, sadly these people know that si can keep going on. Maybe contact your MP so they're aware of the lack of options.

  9. Sadly I was one of those idiots who in invested my life savings of £110,000 into Marshbell!! I feel almost certain that I will never see my money again and I will have a very precarious retirement.

    1. Sorry to hear that. The people doing these scams really don't care who they impact unfortunately.

    2. To the investor who put in £110,000 l would suggest if you have not already done so to contact your Bank assuming that funds were sent via a transfer giving them full details and they may very likely refund at least some of your money. l to lost a very similar sum in a scam investment some time ago and my Bank refunded 50% of my funds. Banks now have an obligation to protect their customers from such scams. No need to feel foolish or an idiot as many sophisticated investors are scammed by these type of investments.

  11. Same as the above I invested as well, no payment in sight after maturity. Is the feeling it is just a scam or very poor business judgement ?

  12. Judging by all the comments including my own, we have all been scammed, as someone else has mentioned I would be happy to pay a visit to the then company owner if he is in this country. Fortunately I have only lost £5000,but it still hurts, I feel for you folks that have lost your life savings.

  13. Marshbell group have now conned me out of 200k . I will not accept that and defiantly not take this on the chin.

  14. Like I said at the end of my message, if someone know how to get in touch with Marshbell or Zorro let us know, or if someone knows a way we can fight and these cretins to get our money back, I will back that person all the way, I am really sorry you have been conned out of so much money. When I put £5000.00 into them I mentioned I had some inheritance to come, they seemed really keen to know how much I expected to receive, and how soon I would get it, they made several phone calls to over a few months, to see if I had received my inheritance, that set the alarm bells ringing so I refused to invest in them again. So I was lucky not to lose anymore money.
Please keep us informed if you make any developments in chasing down these people.

    2. I do not know what an MP can do here, unless she can turn back time and change the investment laws, pointless. The UK government needs to change the laws of classifying investors in the UK, these lax HNW and Sophisticated route has been a loop hole for a lot of these unregulated products. I am most disappointed with myself for not doing more due diligence, their website and brochure clearly said not FCA Regulated and No FOS, but I was tempted with the higher returns. I am now only investing in regulated high street products, although it is low returns, at least I know my money is safe. What is most interesting is they claim the FCA reviewed Marshbell in 2021, so if this is the case, then why would the FCA allow them to carry on doing business if there was an issue with the investment structure, the FCA have a lot of answering to do and the laws need to change to make investor classifications more strict!

    3. I raised my concern to the FCA Back in August 2021 saying that marshbell was a fraudulent company they put out the warning but they still let them take more investor's money .

      Delete
    4. So did I, when I received their letter of default in August 2021, I only lost half of my investment, my first one was actually returned on time with the % included, maybe because it was only a one year product. I think the FCA are to blame for the unregulated investment crisis, they are slow and do not have a grip on the landscape.
